Department of Commerce’s Sunshine Week Event 2024

The Department of Commerce’s Office of Privacy and Open Government, and the Census Bureau’s Policy Coordination Office, will host its Annual National Sunshine Week event on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

This year’s virtual event titled, “The Power of Open Government” draws attention to how access to information and data expands the reach of open government, allowing for transparency, participation, and collaboration across the sectors in meaningful ways. The event is open to everyone. Department of Commerce Deputy Secretary Don Graves will provide opening remarks. The Keynote Speaker is Robert L. Santos, Director, Census Bureau.

Topics will include: Open Government: A Virtual Chat, How the Census Bureau Harnesses AI, DEIA Storytelling through Dashboards: A Case Study in Creating Greater Workforce Data Transparency, FOIA Exemption 3, and Open Data in the Age of AI.
